Position Summary
The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping department to ensure the cleanliness, appearance, and overall guest satisfaction of the hotel's 112 guest rooms, public areas, meeting spaces, and back-of-house facilities. This position supervises housekeeping staff, conducts quality inspections, coordinates room readiness with the Front Desk, and ensures compliance with hotel cleanliness and safety standards.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesStaff Supervision
- Supervise and support room attendants, housepersons, and laundry personnel during assigned shifts.
- Assign daily workloads and inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
- Train new employees on cleaning procedures, safety practices, and guest service expectations.
- Monitor employee performance and provide coaching and corrective action when necessary.
- Assist with scheduling and staffing levels to meet occupancy demands.
Quality Assurance
- Inspect guest rooms, suites, public areas, hallways, restrooms, meeting spaces, and employee areas for cleanliness and maintenance issues.
- Ensure all rooms meet hotel standards before being released for guest occupancy.
- Monitor housekeeping productivity and room inspection scores.
- Address guest concerns or special requests promptly and professionally.
Operations Management
- Coordinate room status updates with the Front Office to maximize room availability.
- Ensure proper inventory and usage of linens, cleaning supplies, amenities, and equipment.
- Report maintenance issues and follow up on repairs as needed.
- Assist with monthly inventory counts and supply ordering.
- Support deep-cleaning projects and seasonal housekeeping initiatives.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, hotel safety standards, and chemical handling procedures.
- Promote safe working practices and proper use of equipment.
- Maintain security and confidentiality of guest rooms and hotel property.
- Participate in emergency response procedures when required.
Guest Service
- Maintain a visible presence throughout the property and interact professionally with guests.
- Resolve housekeeping-related guest concerns quickly and effectively.
- Support the hotel's commitment to exceptional guest experiences and service excellence.
Qualifications Required
- Minimum 2 years of housekeeping experience in a hotel environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with hotel property management systems.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, kneel, reach, lift, and carry up to 90 pounds.
- Ability to inspect guest rooms and public spaces throughout the property.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

- Ensure efficient room turnover and readiness during peak occupancy periods.
