We are seeking an energetic and highly organized Packaging Senior Project Manager to lead retail packaging initiatives from concept through execution. This pivotal role involves managing complex projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, and implementing innovative packaging solutions that enhance product presentation and sustainability. Duties
- Lead end-to-end project management lifecycle for retail packaging initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals and brand standards.
- Support the sales force by becoming a trusted, invaluable link to ensuring a sale translates to an on-time delivery, which translates to a re-order. Collaborate with sales force, senior leadership, and direct report to develop project plans, define objectives, and establish key milestones to drive business success.
- Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders to define scope, objectives, and success metrics; translate needs into detailed project plans.
- Conduct root cause analysis and leverage Lean Six Sigma tools to identify process inefficiencies and implement continuous improvement strategies.
- Manage project schedules using tools like Jira, Project Server, Monday.com, or VersionOne; monitor progress through earned value management and risk assessments.
- Communicate project status effectively to stakeholders at all levels; facilitate meetings, presentations, and conflict resolution to maintain momentum.
- Develop, manage, and maintain expectations around factory samples; consulting with sales and senior management on standards for approval, appropriate tolerances and communicating expectations to Project Managers while ensuring alignment with sales regarding client expectations.
- Be a trusted consulted team member regarding factory-facing and client-facing communication.
- Work with both US domestic factories and international factory partners based offshore in Asia-Pacific (APAC) and Mexico.
- Work cross functionally with logistics, warehousing, accounting, production, offshore vendor relations and art departments, providing excellent service and partnership with internal clients.
Qualifications
- Experience in custom retail packaging in a manufacturing industry is a must.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Superior interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution to develop and foster effective professional relationships and ensure success of projects.
- Risk Management - Must have problem-solving skills with experience to identify potential risks.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with software development, computer tools, scheduling tools, and with programs needed to perform.
- Time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, calendar management, and goal setting.
- Leadership skills – experience delegating tasks, motivation techniques, conflict management, and enforce deadlines, providing constructive feedback, setting goals, track progress, and evaluating individual team performance.
- Ability to individually handle and manage direct reports and their projects at once, including multi-component/ large scale programs, is a must.
- Work well under pressure and use innovative mindset and problem-solving skills to achieve goals timely in a professional manner.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Technical Expertise – must be a subject matter expert in the packaging industry with emphasis on primary packaging· Proficient with SAP Order, Purchasing, Inventory, Business Partner and Accounting modules.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and other related software. This position is heavy on excel and must be able to create formulas and handle mathematical equations and calcuations, and intermediate to skilled experience in Excel is a must.
- 4-5 years of working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop a plus.
- Degree in Business, Communications or Merchandising is a must.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
