Job Description
SYNVERA is seeking an experienced Rotating Equipment QA/QC Inspector to support a major industrial project in Freeport, Texas. This is an on-site contract role supporting critical mechanical quality activities on industrial rotating equipment installations and inspections.
This position is best suited for candidates with strong field QA/QC experience in heavy industrial environments and a disciplined approach to documentation, inspection execution, and contractor interface management.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform quality inspections of rotating and mechanical equipment installations and construction activities
- Verify work is completed in accordance with project specifications, IFC drawings, procedures, and applicable standards
- Inspect rotating equipment assemblies, supports, alignments, installed components, and related mechanical systems
- Review and verify inspection reports, hold-point records, torque and tension reports, alignment documentation, and turnover packages
- Monitor mechanical completion activities and verify punch list closeout
- Generate daily inspection reports and maintain QA/QC records
- Coordinate with construction, commissioning, engineering, and client representatives
- Help ensure compliance with project quality requirements and site procedures
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of industrial QA/QC inspection experience in mechanical or rotating-equipment environments
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, inspection and test plans, specifications, and project procedures
- Working knowledge of applicable industry standards and codes
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Valid TWIC card required
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
- Must be able to meet all project and site-specific safety requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience performing QA/QC inspections on large industrial rotating equipment
- Previous experience with Nuovo Pignone centrifugal compressors
- Experience supporting construction verification, mechanical completion, alignment verification, turnover, startup, and commissioning activities
- Familiarity with DGS, precision measurement, vibration, and fit-up inspections
- Experience reviewing inspection test plans, turnover packages, mechanical completion records, and QA/QC dossiers
- Experience with compressor auxiliaries, including lube oil systems, seal gas systems, piping inspections, and equipment setting verification
Work Environment
- On-site industrial project environment in Freeport, Texas
- Field-based assignment with extended workdays and project schedule demands
- PPE and compliance with all client and site safety requirements required at all times
