Equipment manufacturer in the Eugene area is seeking experienced Sheet Metal Workers for full time, day shift positions. Rears Manufacturing Company is a manufacturer of agricultural equipment with national distribution through dealerships and direct customer sales. This is a 40 hour/week position: on-site day shift, Monday - Friday.
Rears industrial campus is conveniently located for communities in the Eugene-Springfield area.
Employment opportunities are available immediately: CNC experience is beneficial. A successful candidate will have experience with the Job Duties listed below and fulfill the list of Qualifications required for employment consideration.
Job Duties
- Read and interpret technical drawings and work orders to determine job requirements
- Use quality control tools to inspect fabricated product at multiple steps to verify job is meeting specifications.
- Experience with tooling set-up is desirable
- Operate material handling devices such as overhead crane to position work components
- Receive verbal instruction from team lead
- Collaborate with team members to maintain quality production and adopt new processes
- Lift and manipulate structural steel components, up to 70lb
- Palletize and prepare production pieces for the next work center operation
- Maintain a clean, safe, and productive work space
- Attention to detail and safety for every job: set-up, execution, and quality check
Job Qualifications
- Experience: you must have a job history operating sheet metal forming tools
- Strong knowledge of metal forming processes, equipment operation and industry safety standards
- Experience with material handling systems such as overhead crane
- Ability to read technical production prints
- Proficient with measuring tools and able to maintain tolerances
- Job set-up skills and knowledge of metal properties is desirable
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a production work environment
- Physically able to lift/carry/manipulate steel structural components; dexterity to stoop, climb, and reach to maintain equipment
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrate an organized approach to job completion, maintain a clean work area and insure that every job is neatly prepared for the next operation
Work Schedule and Compensation
Schedule: 8 hour shifts, M-F. Shift start time 6AM or 8AM. Shift assignment is most often employee choice. Overtime is often needed during the months of February – May.
Starting wage: $25-32 per hour
