Operate the electrostatic painting equipment to produce painted parts while maintaining work schedules, safety, and quality.
- Operates finishing equipment in the application of powder paints. - Reads and follows set-up procedure cards in company designated log. - Makes adjustments to equipment. - Draws powdered paint from inventory. - Sets settings on ovens; according to set specifications. - Is responsible for quality of paint application.
- Checks parts for proper preparation before coating. - Refuses parts that do not meet specifications.
- Records materials used into computer system to be used for EPA requirements, etc.
- Cleans all equipment after paint color change and as required to run efficiently.
- Checks mil thickness of coatings.
- Shuts down systems and seeks assistance from Paint Technician or Supervisor whenever quality levels cannot be met.
- Completes associated paperwork, i.e. non-conforming material action reports, standard change requests.
- Maintains maximum safety and good housekeeping practices.
- May unload, load, or sort parts as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
