Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Automotive Payroll and Accounting Clerk to join our team. Duties
- Process payroll accurately and efficiently using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro, ensuring timely payments for all employees.
- Maintain detailed records of payroll transactions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger entries in accounting software like QuickBooks or PeopleSoft.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, labor regulations, and tax law requirements related to payroll and benefits administration.
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable related to payroll expenses, benefits, and other financial transactions.
- Assist with governmental reporting requirements such as payroll tax filings and other statutory obligations.
- Perform data entry tasks with precision using 10-key typing skills while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Collaborate with human resources to process employment changes, new hires, terminations, and labor law compliance documentation.
- Conduct regular account reconciliations including general ledger reconciliation and analysis of debits & credits to ensure financial accuracy.
- Support non-profit accounting functions if applicable, including tracking donations or grants related to automotive community initiatives.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of corporate accounting principles, including double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and general ledger management.
- Experience with accounting software like QuickBooks or PeopleSoft for financial recordkeeping and reporting.
- Familiarity with labor law compliance, tax law related to payroll taxes, benefits administration processes, and governmental reporting standards.
- Excellent analysis skills for account reconciliation and financial data review.
- Ability to perform precise data entry using 10-key typing with high accuracy under tight deadlines.
- Understanding of human resources processes including employment laws.
- Knowledge of time & attendance systems such as Kronos or UltiPro for accurate tracking of employee hours.
- Strong organizational skills combined with attention to detail necessary for bookkeeping tasks like accounts payable/receivable management.
