Duties
- Greet guests as they arrive or move through the bar area
- Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages efficiently and accurately using POS systems such as Toast
- Engage with guests to understand their preferences, recommend drinks, and promote specials to enhance sales opportunities.
- Demonstrate strong product knowledge to enhance guest interaction and experience
- Collaborate with kitchen staff and bar team members
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the restaurant, ensuring compliance with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
- Manage cash handling responsibilities including cashiering, processing payments, and balancing registers at the end of shifts.
- Monitor guest behavior to ensure safety and responsible drinking
- Assist with food service when necessary, including bussing tables or catering events, ensuring timely delivery and presentation.
- Support team members during busy hours by managing multiple tasks such as time management, serving multiple tables or sections efficiently, and maintaining a positive attitude.
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or hospitality environments, particularly in fine dining setting.
- Strong knowledge of POS systems like Toast POS for order entry and transaction processing.
- Knowledge of menu items
- Neat, professional appearance with a pleasant personality
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to collaborate
- Ability to stand and work on feet for extended period
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly while maintaining professionalism.
- Effective time management skills to handle high-volume periods smoothly without compromising quality.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and accurate order processing.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, food handling procedures, and responsible alcohol service practices.
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and banquet or catering events.
