Associates sew, build and upholster cushions, seats, sofas, lounge chairs, and stools. The following duties and responsibilities are indicative of the position but certainly not limited to:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Upholsters booths seating cushions, chair & stool cushions
- Cuts and sews patterns
- Creates templates for patterns
- Attaches foam to wood parts in preparation of upholstering
- Guides parts under sewing machine needle following edges, seams, guides on machine bed, or markings on parts
- Follows specifications per work and adheres to quality standards
- Adjusts work to meet production schedules
Skills:
- Able to create and sew patterns from scratch
- Able to sew and upholster diamond tufted products
- Able to do both webbing and spring cushions
- Able to sew and upholster winged chairs and sofas
The successful candidate will be quick to adjust to rhythm of production, work with a sense of urgency, maintain high standards, demonstrates strong effort to eliminate waste, recognize and adjust to change & budget time wisely while maintaining a close watch on the detail work.
PHYSICAL CONSIDERATIONS: The working environment is a production environment. This position requires the ability to communicate effectively. This position requires the ability walk & stand on concrete floor for long periods at a time. The incumbent must use hand tools and therefore must possess finger dexterity.
