Park Aerospace is seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. This position plays a critical role in the fabrication and assembly of high-performance aerospace composite parts using advanced machining equipment, including 5-Axis CNC machines.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and committed to producing quality products that meet the rigorous standards of the aerospace industry.
What You'll Do
- Set up and operate 5-Axis CNC machining equipment to support composite part production.
- Perform trimming, drilling, countersinking, sanding, bonding, and finishing operations.
- Read and interpret blueprints, process sheets, diagrams, work orders, and schematic drawings.
- Prepare tools and fixtures for production activities.
- Cut, mark, and prepare composite materials, including tapes, woven fabrics, honeycomb, and adhesives.
- Perform assembly, potting, bonding, and hand-trim operations.
- Conduct wet lay-up, vacuum bagging, de-burring, and related composite fabrication processes.
- Cut and prepare mechanical test coupons as required.
Quality & Documentation
- Inspect parts and assemblies for defects and conformance to specifications.
- Verify measurements and tolerances using approved inspection methods.
- Complete production documentation and Oracle transactions accurately to maintain product traceability.
- Perform rework and repairs on nonconforming products when required.
- Monitor and track time- and temperature-sensitive materials to ensure compliance with manufacturing requirements.
What You Bring:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Basic computer skills and accurate data entry abilities.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- 2+ years of experience in a composite manufacturing or CNC machining environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with:
- 3-Axis CNC machining
- Composite assembly and fabrication
- Bonding and potting operations
- Tool preparation and hand trimming
- Experience with Oracle or similar manufacturing software systems.
