Duties
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans using evidence-based techniques such as applied behavior analysis (ABA) to promote skill development and reduce challenging behaviors
- Collect, record, and analyze data on client progress to inform ongoing treatment adjustments
- Support patients during assessments, therapy sessions, and daily activities to ensure a safe and engaging environment
- Assist with patient intake procedures, including gathering medical records and conducting initial evaluations under supervision
- Maintain confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA regulations and accurately documenting medical records and behavioral data
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including clinicians and educators, to ensure comprehensive care for individuals with disabilities
- Provide patient-centered care by fostering positive relationships, encouraging communication, and promoting independence in daily routines
Experience
- Prior experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques, especially applied behavior analysis (ABA), is highly desirable
- Familiarity with medical terminology, documentation practices, and medical records management is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to work patiently and effectively with diverse populations in educational or healthcare settings
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and families
- Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining flexibility in dynamic environments
- Commitment to ongoing learning about behavioral health, diagnostic evaluation processes, and best practices in special education
