We are a family-owned and operated tree service based out of Kennebunkport, Maine, looking to add a dependable and hardworking experienced Groundsman / General Laborer to our crew.
This is a hands-on, outdoor position working alongside and supporting our Foreman/Licensed Arborist and tree climbers. We are looking for someone who has experience with physical outdoor labor, takes pride in their work, and understands the importance of safety and teamwork on a tree crew.
Responsibilities Include:
- Cut, chip, drag, and haul branches, brush, and logs away from the work zone
- Operate and assist with wood chippers and other tree-care equipment
- Assist the foreman (licensed arborist), and climbers throughout the workday
- Keep the job site organized, clean, and safe
- Watch for overhead hazards and maintain awareness of the work zone
- Assist with traffic and pedestrian control when necessary
- Rake, blow, and thoroughly clean customer properties before leaving each job
- Load and unload equipment, tools, brush, and debris
- Perform general labor and other duties as needed
- Follow all company and job-site safety procedures
Qualifications:
- Previous groundsman, tree service, landscaping, construction, or similar outdoor labor experience preferred
- Valid driver's license required
- Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check
- Must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Must be physically capable of lifting, dragging, carrying, and performing strenuous labor throughout the workday
- Dependable transportation and reliable attendance
- Ability to take direction and work well as part of a crew
- Strong awareness of job-site safety
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
