Duties
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, friendly service throughout their dining experience
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Process sales transactions efficiently, including cash handling and credit card payments
- Upsell menu items, including cocktails, wines, spirits, and specialty dishes to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales
- Serve food and beverages promptly while maintaining proper food handling and sanitation standards
- Assist with food preparation and setup for service when needed, supporting kitchen staff as part of the team
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of service stations, tables, and dining areas in accordance with sanitation regulations
- Use OpenTable or similar reservation systems to manage guest seating efficiently
- Provide expert knowledge of wine, spirits, and cocktail offerings to educate guests and recommend pairings
- Handle guest inquiries professionally, ensuring excellent guest relations and resolving issues promptly
Qualifications
- Previous food service experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is required; fine dining experience is a plus
- Proficiency with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; experience with OpenTable is preferred
- Strong knowledge of beverage service, including cocktails, wine, spirits, and drink presentation techniques
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours
- Demonstrated ability to upsell menu items confidently to maximize sales opportunities
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper sanitation practices in food handling
- Ability to process cash transactions accurately and handle cashiering responsibilities
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly, positive attitude toward guests and team members
- Basic math skills for calculating bills, tips, and processing payments accurately
- Culinary experience or kitchen familiarity is advantageous but not mandatory; a passion for the food industry is essential
- Hospitality background with strong guest relations skills to create welcoming environments
