If you enjoy troubleshooting electronic circuits, finding root causes, and repairing electronics at the component level, you'll fit well here.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair industrial electronic equipment at the component level.
- Troubleshoot switching power supplies, inverter sections, gate driver circuits, and control boards.
- Read schematics and technical documentation.
- Use oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, bench power supplies, and other diagnostic equipment.
- Replace through-hole and surface-mount components (ICs, MOSFETs, IGBTs, capacitors, optocouplers, etc.).
- Perform functional testing after repairs.
- Document faults, repairs, and test results.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to troubleshoot electronic circuits using a logical diagnostic process.
- Ability to read and understand schematics and technical documentation.
- Experience using diagnostic equipment, not just measuring voltage.
- Strong understanding of switching power supplies and basic power electronics.
- Experience locating short circuits, failed semiconductors, and control circuit faults.
- Experience with through-hole and SMD rework.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience repairing VFDs, servo drives, PLCs, HMIs, or industrial automation equipment.
- Experience using oscilloscopes for signal tracing.
- Experience building or using electronic test fixtures.
- Familiarity with inverter topology and motor drive systems.
Compensation
Hourly pay is based on your experience, troubleshooting ability, and practical diagnostic skills.
$16.00–$38.00 per hour
Technicians with strong component-level troubleshooting experience will be compensated at the upper end of the range.
