As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead our people operations and help build the systems, processes, and culture that support our next stage of growth.
Position Summary
The Human Resources Manager serves as the company’s lead HR professional and is responsible for all Human Resources and Payroll functions. This role oversees employee relations, recruiting, payroll administration, benefits, compliance, performance management, and organizational development.
This position is ideal for an experienced HR professional who enjoys autonomy, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is excited by the opportunity to have a meaningful impact on a growing organization.
Operating as an HR department of one, this individual will work closely with ownership, executive leadership, and operations management while serving as a trusted resource for employees throughout the organization.
Essential ResponsibilitiesPayroll & Administration
- Process and administer semi-monthly payroll.
- Audit payroll and timekeeping records for accuracy and compliance.
- Manage garnishments, deductions, payroll adjustments, and reporting.
- Maintain employee personnel files and HRIS records.
- Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes.
Employee Relations
- Serve as the primary HR resource for managers and employees.
- Conduct workplace investigations.
- Provide coaching and guidance on employee relations matters.
- Support performance management and disciplinary processes.
- Assist leaders in developing and retaining high-performing teams.
Recruiting & Talent Acquisition
- Manage full-cycle recruiting.
- Develop and maintain job descriptions.
- Coordinate interviews and hiring processes.
- Support workforce planning and succession initiatives.
Benefits & Leave Administration
- Administer employee benefits programs.
- Coordinate open enrollment and employee education.
- Manage leave administration and related compliance requirements.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with California and federal employment laws.
- Manage workers’ compensation and return-to-work programs.
- Coordinate unemployment claims and responses.
- Maintain HR policies, procedures, and required employment notices.
Organizational Development
- Coordinate performance evaluation programs.
- Support leadership development initiatives.
- Assist with employee engagement and recognition programs.
- Continuously improve HR systems and processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of payroll administration experience.
- Strong knowledge of California employment law and HR compliance.
- Experience conducting workplace investigations.
- Experience supporting employee relations and performance management.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity.
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of all pre-employment requirements, which may include a background check, motor vehicle record review, drug screening, reference verification, and verification of eligibility to work in the United States, where permitted by law.
- Candidates must be able to meet all customer, site-access, and contractual eligibility requirements as a condition of employment and continued assignment.
Preferred Qualifications
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
- Experience with Paycom.
- Experience supporting field-based or blue-collar workforces.
- Experience serving as the primary HR professional within an organization.
