Equipment & Asset Manager
One Source Logistics, Inc. is seeking an organized, detail-oriented professional to oversee our trailer fleet and asset management operations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring our trailers and equipment are properly tracked, maintained, and available for operations at all times.
Position Summary
The Equipment & Asset Manager will be responsible for managing the company's fleet of trailers (chassis, pneumatic, and belly dump, etc.) throughout Oklahoma, Texas, and Louisiana. This individual will maintain complete visibility of all trailers, sand boxes, and other equipment ensuring accurate tracking, documentation, inspections, repairs, and asset utilization.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working in a fast-paced trucking environment, and capable of maintaining accurate records while coordinating with drivers, dispatch, maintenance vendors, customers, and accounting.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Fleet Asset Control
- Maintain real-time visibility of all trailers, sand boxes, and other equipment.
- Track the location, status, and assignment of every trailer and box at all times.
- Ensure all equipment records remain accurate and up to date.
- Maintain a complete historical record of equipment assignments, inspections, maintenance, pickups, and returns.
- Investigate and resolve equipment location discrepancies.
Trailer Assignment & Documentation
- Assign trailers as needed.
- Coordinate trailer pickups, transfers, and returns.
- Ensure trailer rental agreements are properly executed and filed before equipment is released.
- Maintain electronic and physical equipment files.
- Verify all trailer information is accurately entered into company tracking systems.
Inspection & Maintenance Management
- Monitor and ensure completion of required trailer inspections.
- Verify all mid-trip inspections are completed and documented.
- Review inspection reports and identify equipment requiring repair.
- Coordinate maintenance and repairs with vendors and repair facilities.
- Track repair progress and ensure timely return to service.
- Maintain detailed maintenance records for all fleet assets.
- Notify accounting of driver- or contractor-caused damages that require charge-backs.
Customer Asset Management
- Track customer-owned sand boxes assigned to company trucks.
- Provide customers with accurate daily asset reports.
- Monitor equipment status and communicate operational updates.
- Coordinate immediate recovery of customer assets when trucks become disabled or are removed from service.
- Ensure customer boxes are not left assigned to trucks on extended downtime or home time.
Reporting & Communication
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly asset reports.
- Communicate regularly with dispatch, drivers, customers, accounting, and management.
- Provide management with accurate equipment utilization and asset accountability reports.
- Assist in identifying opportunities to improve asset utilization and reduce downtime.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in trucking, logistics, fleet management, transportation, equipment coordination, or related field preferred.
- Strong organizational and record keeping skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and computer-based tracking systems.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of trailers, fleet maintenance, and DOT inspections is preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.
Pay: $1,000.00 - $1,500.00 per week
