Job Overview
The Inventory Manager will be responsible for helping rebuild our inventory management and supply chain systems from the ground up to meet the demands of a growing business, along with the ongoing oversight of those systems. Day to day, they will oversee all material flow within the manufacturing facility, ensuring accurate stock levels of raw materials, components, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods. With one direct report, this role supports EnvirOx management and manufacturing by overseeing key supplier relationships, maintaining optimal inventory levels, managing physical inventory counts, and investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Directly supervise the Purchasing position to meet departmental and company objectives and KPIs.
- Identify and provide recommendations to top management for an appropriate CSL(s) around which to develop a robust inventory management system to support growing business operations.
- Develop reliable demand forecasting and optimize ordering patterns, safety stock strategies, and reorder points.
- Implement strategies and processes to achieve target inventory turns in line with industry standards, minimize annual inventory variation, and reduce inventory carrying costs where appropriate.
- Maintain precise inventory counts for raw materials, components, WIP, and finished goods.
- Conduct regular cycle counts, full physical inventories, and reconciliation of discrepancies.
- Track material usage and scrap levels to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure materials are available to meet production schedules without delays.
- Collaborate closely with manufacturing, quality, shipping/receiving, safety, regulatory, and customer support on all inventory and supply related activities.
- Develop a cost management system for key items.
- Recommend FIFO or other material rotation standards depending on product type.
- Manage and maintain inventory accuracy in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., AccountMate, SAP, Oracle, Epicor).
- Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for inventory control.
- Provide training on inventory processes, safety practices, and equipment use.
- Ensure compliance with manufacturing and safety regulations (OSHA, ISO standards, etc.).
- Evaluate vendor performance and participate in sourcing decisions when needed.
- Participate in maintaining key supplier relationships and negotiating strategic objectives and agreements.
Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
