TITLE: Secretary/Receptionists
QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high
school diploma.
2. Business courses of secretarial/bookkeeping training from a
business/technical school.
3. Computer Literate.
4. Good public relations skills.
5. Physical and emotional ability and dexterity to perform required
work and move about as needed.
6. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find
appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Administrator designated by Superintendent
JOB GOAL: To complete the detail and written work and to coordinate other matters
essential to the efficiency and effectiveness of the administrative
supervisor.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Takes, transcribes dictation and types correspondences, reports, notices, recommendations, etc.
- Obtains, gathers, and organizes pertinent data as needed and puts it into usable form.
- Maintains a regular filing system, as well as a set of confidential files, and processes incoming correspondences.
- Places and receives telephone calls and records messages.
- Orders and maintains supplies as needed.
- Performs any bookkeeping tasks associated with the specific position.
- Maintains a schedule of appointments and make arrangements for conferences and interviews.
- Welcome visitors and arranges for their comfort.
- Screens unexpected callers in accordance with predetermined policies.
- Operates office machines.
- Engages in personal professional growth and demonstrates professional ethics.
- Performs other related duties that are required by the administrator.
TERMS OF
EMPLOYMENT: Eleven or twelve month year. Salary to be established by the Board.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with
provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Support Personnel.
