Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Assist in menu planning by preparing components that meet nutritional guidelines and presentation expectations.
- Handle food with care, following proper food safety protocols to maintain cleanliness and prevent contamination.
- Support cooking activities by operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other culinary tools.
- Contribute to food service operations by maintaining station organization, restocking supplies, and ensuring timely meal preparation.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy service periods.
- Follow all food handling procedures and sanitation standards to uphold health regulations.
Requirements
- Prior experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable.
- Proven background in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant kitchen environments.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques.
- Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and catering services is a plus.
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in basic cooking methods required.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
