We are seeking a reliable, skilled, and motivated Sous Chef to join our kitchen leadership team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, leads by example, and takes pride in maintaining high food and operational standards.
As Sous Chef, you will work directly with ownership to help manage daily kitchen operations, ensure consistent food quality, support staff development, and maintain an organized, efficient kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
Kitchen Operations
- Oversee daily kitchen operations during prep and service
- Ensure all stations are fully stocked and service-ready
- Maintain smooth ticket flow during busy service periods
- Step into any station when needed to support the team
- Assist with opening and closing procedures
Food Quality & Consistency
- Ensure every dish meets recipe, portion, and plating standards
- Taste and inspect food regularly for quality control
- Maintain consistency across all shifts
- Prevent errors before food leaves the kitchen
Team Leadership
- Lead and support line cooks and prep staff
- Maintain accountability, discipline, and professionalism in the kitchen
- Train new team members on recipes, systems, and standards
- Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment
Inventory & Prep Management
- Monitor daily prep levels and kitchen pars
- Assist with inventory counts and stock management
- Communicate low-stock items and shortages proactively
- Help minimize waste and improve efficiency
Cleanliness & Food Safety
- Enforce sanitation and food safety standards
- Ensure proper food storage, labelling, and rotation (FIFO)
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen at all times
- Ensure all closing cleaning tasks are completed properly
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or similar kitchen leadership role
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations and food safety
- Ability to lead under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Reliable, punctual, and highly organized
- Ability to multitask and stay calm during peak service

Compensation: Competitive, based on experience
Schedule: Full-time, including weekends/holidays as needed
