Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver/Companion with RBT experience to provide essential support and companionship to our 36 year old disabled son in need of assistance. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. The ideal candidate will have experience in various caregiving settings and possess a strong commitment to patient care. Flexible in afternoon hours. MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH DISABLED AUTISTIC ADULTS and or Group Home experience. looking for a few afternoons per week. flexible with hours 2-4 hrs per visit.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Monitor and record vital signs, ensuring any changes in health status are reported to appropriate personnel.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Administer medications as prescribed and assist with care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Support clients with mobility challenges, including the use of Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Provide direct support for individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or autism.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of client information.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
- Previous experience in home health care, assisted living, or long-term care settings.
- Familiarity with first aid and CPR techniques is preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is highly valued.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and vital sign monitoring is essential.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for client mobility assistance.
