Job Summary
The Employee Pharmacy Pharmacist is responsible for interpreting, verifying, preparing, and dispensing prescription medications while ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations. This position provides direct service to NARMC employees, processes insurance claims, manages medication inventory, maintains pharmacy records, and delivers exceptional customer service in a fast-paced retail pharmacy environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret, review, and verify prescription orders from healthcare providers.
- Accurately enter patient and prescription information into the pharmacy management system.
- Prepare, label, and dispense medications in accordance with pharmacy regulations and best practices.
- Counsel employees on medication use and respond to pharmacy-related inquiries.
- Process insurance claims and resolve prescription billing issues.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA requirements.
- Monitor medication inventory levels and assist with ordering, receiving, and stocking pharmaceutical products.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and security of medications and pharmacy supplies.
- Remove expired medications and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
- Assist employees at the pharmacy counter and provide exceptional customer service.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient pharmacy environment.
- Complete required continuing education and competency validations to maintain licensure.
- Adhere to all NARMC policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
