We are a WA based General Contractor seeking an experienced Project Accountant to support construction projects throughout Washington and Oregon. This role reports directly to the Controller and partners with Project Managers to manage project financials, billing, job costs, and forecasting.
We are looking for someone who is driven, detail-oriented, and a strong critical thinker. The right person will take initiative, identify issues, ask questions, and follow problems through to resolution and be able to work independently as well within a close-knit team environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage project accounting for multiple construction projects
- Prepare customer billings and related documentation
- Process subcontractor billings and vendor invoices
- Monitor job costs, subcontract commitments, budgets, owner change orders, and cost-to-complete
- Assist Project Managers with forecasting and projected final costs
- Review job costs for discrepancies, budget concerns, and unusual activity
- Issue and track subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders, and commitments
- Assist with lien waivers, insurance certificates, W-9s, and other project documentation
- Support project closeout and final billing
Qualifications
- Construction or project accounting experience required
- Experience with AP, AR, job costing, and general understanding of construction billing
- Understanding of construction budgets, commitments, change orders, and forecasting
- Procore experience is a plus
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to manage a high volume of work and competing priorities
- Strong Excel skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
This is a full-time, in-office position, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Remote work is not available for this role. Overtime opportunities may be available based on workload and business needs.
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
