Overview
We are seeking a Public Works Director to lead and participate in the maintenance, planning, and development of the Township's infrastructure. This role involves coordinating with a team of Township officials, employees, engineers, and contractors to ensure the efficient delivery of public works projects that enhance community safety and improve sustainability. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive equipment experience, and a passion for innovative infrastructure solutions.
Duties
- Oversee, lead and participate in all Public Works operations.
- Manage staff hiring, scheduling and project work to ensure quality results and adherence to safety standards.
- Train, develop and evaluate Public Works personnel.
- Oversee project scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure task completion within required scope.
- Coordinate projects with Township staff, engineers, consultants, and contractors.
- Promote workplace safety and education.
- Receive, respond and address residents’ concerns and maintenance issues.
- Oversee and administer Township’s Pennsylvania One Call program.
- Assist with MS4 stormwater compliance programs and reporting.
- Assist in preparation and administration of annual operating and capital budgets.
- Develop long-range capital replacement and infrastructure improvement programs with Township Administrator.
- Attend Board and public meetings as required.
- Lead and participate in emergency and severe weather response activities.
- Maintain required records for equipment, infrastructure, payroll and financial reports.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License (valid CDL preferred)
- PennDOT Flagger Certification (possess or obtain upon hiring)
- Minimum of 5-years’ experience in maintaining and repairing roads, at least two of which involved work at the administrative level (planning, scheduling, designing, budgeting) and at least two of which involve supervising or directing the work of other employees OR any equivalent combination of experience and training

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
