The Opportunity
Mission critical construction is the hottest sector in the industry — data centers can't wait, can't fail, and can't be built by just anyone. Our client, one of the Southwest's largest general contractors with 50 years of building and projects exceeding $100M, is hiring a Project Engineer for a mission critical project in Reno. You'll work directly with Project Managers and Superintendents at the center of the action: RFIs, submittals, document control, and daily field coordination on a project where precision is everything. What You'll Do

Process and track RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings; keep logs accurate and current

Support subcontractor coordination and communication across active scopes

Maintain project documentation and document control systems

Prepare agendas and minutes for OAC and subcontractor meetings

Assist with schedule updates and progress tracking

Review drawings and specs; help flag conflicts and constructability issues — critical on MEP-heavy mission critical work

Support QC walks, punch lists, commissioning support, and closeout documentation

Assist PMs with change orders, budgets, and cost tracking

Spend time in the field learning sequences, logistics, and site operations
What You'll Bring

Bachelor's in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field — or equivalent experience

0–3 years of commercial construction experience (internships count); mission critical or MEP-heavy project exposure a plus

Strong organizational skills and sharp attention to detail

Clear written and verbal communication

Microsoft Office proficiency; Procore, Bluebeam, or similar a plus

A proactive, team-first attitude and hunger to learn

Comfort working from a job trailer on an active construction site
