Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Technician (MHT) to join our team in providing compassionate care and support for individuals recovering from substance use disorders. The MHT plays a vital role in maintaining a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment while assisting clients with their daily activities, treatment plans, and crisis interventions as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support clients during daily activities, ensuring adherence to program rules and schedules.
- Monitor and document client behaviors, progress, and any incidents in accordance with facility policies.
- Facilitate group discussions, psychoeducation sessions, and recreational activities to promote recovery and wellness.
- Assist clients with daily living skills, including hygiene, meal times, and medication adherence (if applicable).
- Conduct regular facility checks to ensure a secure and drug-free environment.
- Transport clients to appointments, meetings, or community outings as needed.
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support in high-stress situations.
- Collaborate with clinical staff, including counselors, therapists, and medical professionals, to ensure comprehensive client care.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in accordance with HIPAA and state regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (some positions may require an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field).
- Previous experience in mental health/ behavioral health, substance abuse treatment, or a similar setting preferred.
- Pass Live Scan (background check)
- Understanding of addiction, recovery principles, and mental health conditions.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and crisis management skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Schedule & Work Environment:
- May require evening, overnight, weekend, or holiday shifts.
- Work is performed in a residential or outpatient treatment setting with direct client interaction.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
