Who We’re Looking For
CREtelligent is seeking a Phase I Environmental Professional to join our Akron, Ohio office on a hybrid schedule. In this role, you will be responsible for completing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments from start to finish, evaluating environmental risk, interpreting historical and regulatory information, and preparing high-quality reports that help our clients make informed real estate and lending decisions.
This position is ideal for an environmental professional who enjoys technical analysis, critical thinking, and report preparation, while minimizing travel. Most work is office-based, with only occasional field work when needed to support the team. Our hybrid schedule provides the flexibility to work from home while maintaining strong collaboration with colleagues in the office.
You'll work with RADIUS, our proprietary technology platform, and a nationwide network of environmental professionals to deliver environmental due diligence services for lenders, investors, attorneys, and commercial real estate clients across the country. Experience with Property Condition Assessments (PCAs) is a plus but not required.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Complete Phase I Environmental Site Assessments in accordance with ASTM E1527-21 and applicable client requirements.
- Evaluate historical records, regulatory databases, site observations, interviews, and other due diligence information to identify environmental conditions and assess risk.
- Prepare clear, accurate, and defensible Phase I ESA reports that meet technical, quality, deadline, and budget expectations.
- Communicate technical findings effectively with contractors and internal team members.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while consistently meeting client deadlines.
- Assist with occasional site visits or field work as necessary to support project delivery.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, technical guidance, and best practices within the environmental services team.

Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience).
- 3-5 years of experience completing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments.
- Working knowledge of ASTM E1527-21 and the All Appropriate Inquiries (AAI) Rule.
- Experience preparing lender-compliant Phase I ESAs; familiarity with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, SBA, and HUD requirements is preferred.
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations and common environmental issues encountered during commercial real estate due diligence.
- Excellent technical writing, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Experience interpreting historical records, regulatory information, and environmental data.
- Experience with Quire, Parcel, or similar environmental reporting platforms is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Professional Geologist (PG), Professional Engineer (PE), or Environmental Professional (EP) qualifications under ASTM are a plus.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced consulting environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

Compensation

Compensation: $50,000 - $75,000 annually. We conduct annual performance and salary reviews to continue to increase your compensation level as you grow and perform in the role.
