BOMA Health Services is seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide community-based supports to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD) throughout New Jersey.
As a DSP, you will help individuals live meaningful, independent lives by assisting with daily activities, community participation, skill development, and personal goals. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys helping others and wants to make a positive impact in their community.
No prior DSP experience is required—we provide training for the right candidates.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Assist individuals with community participation and integration activities
- Support individuals in developing independent living skills
- Provide transportation to community activities, appointments, and recreational outings
- Assist with personal care needs when required
- Encourage social engagement and relationship building
- Document services provided in accordance with agency and Medicaid requirements
- Maintain professional and respectful interactions with individuals served, families, and team members
- Follow all agency policies, safety procedures, and individual support plans
QualificationsRequired
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum age of 18 years
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable vehicle with current insurance and registration
- Ability to pass criminal background checks and other required screenings
- Ability to use a smartphone, tablet, or computer for documentation
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities
- Experience in healthcare, human services, education, or caregiving
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist individuals as needed
