Duties
- Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, vital signs, and updating electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) efficiently and accurately
- Prepare examination rooms and assist healthcare providers during patient visits, including dermatology, internal medicine, or emergency medicine procedures
- Perform phlebotomy (blood draws), medication administration, and basic life support (BLS) as needed to support patient care
- Manage medical documentation such as progress notes, ICD coding for diagnoses, and detailed medical records to ensure compliance and clarity
- Support hospital medicine or inpatient teams with tasks like X-ray assistance, vital sign monitoring, and physiology-related procedures
- Handle administrative duties including appointment scheduling, insurance verification, EMR/EHR management, and maintaining organized medical records
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in trauma centers or Geriatrics clinics to deliver high-quality outpatient or inpatient care
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant with a strong background in medical office management and clinical support functions
- Knowledge of dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, or emergency medicine environments preferred
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or medication administration are advantageous
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ICD coding, and medical terminology essential for accurate documentation
- Hands-on experience with X-ray procedures or PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) settings is a plus
- Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology to support patient assessments and procedures
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically in fast-paced outpatient or inpatient settings
