Responsibilities
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, and inventory management to ensure timely and accurate processing of goods.
- Utilize inventory management systems such as AS400 and warehouse management systems to track stock levels, update records, and generate reports.
- Operate material handling equipment including forklifts and RF scanners safely and efficiently to move products within the warehouse.
- Implement process improvement initiatives using lean management principles to enhance workflow efficiency and reduce waste.
- Manage inventory control procedures, conduct regular cycle counts, and reconcile discrepancies to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Supervise warehouse staff by providing clear instructions, managing schedules, and fostering a safe working environment compliant with OSHA standards.
- Coordinate logistics activities related to shipping & receiving, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with team members and managers regarding operational updates, safety protocols, and performance metrics.
Experience
- Proven experience in warehouse operations or distribution center environments with a strong understanding of logistics processes.
- Demonstrated ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and OSHAsafety-certified equipment.
- Prior experience managing inventory using systems like AS400 or other warehouse management systems.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control techniques, shipping & receiving procedures, and materials handling best practices.
- Leadership experience in supervising teams within a warehouse setting; warehouse supervisor experience is highly valued.
- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies such as lean management to optimize workflows.
- Excellent managerial communication skills for team leadership, training, and coordinating with cross-functional departments.
