Responsibilities
- Assist with patient intake processes, including collecting vital signs and medical histories
- Support clinical procedures such as phlebotomy, medication administration, and basic X-ray imaging
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) accurately and efficiently, ensuring thorough medical documentation and records management
- Provide patient education on treatment plans, medications, and health maintenance strategies
- Perform routine clinical tasks like vital signs monitoring, anatomy and physiology assessments, and ICD coding for accurate billing and documentation
- Support hospital medicine or outpatient services by preparing exam rooms and assisting healthcare providers during procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment while adhering to safety protocols and infection control standards
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and ICD coding
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems for documentation and record management
- Proficiency in patient service skills such as intake procedures, vital signs collection, and patient communication
- Familiarity with hospital experience or inpatient settings including Level I & II trauma centers or PICU environments is a plus
- Ability to perform phlebotomy, medication administration, X-ray procedures, and basic emergency medicine support
- Excellent organizational skills for managing medical records and supporting medical office operations
- Basic life support (BLS) certification preferred; willingness to obtain if not already certified
