Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional, working Monday through Friday from 3 PM to 11 PM! In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, personalized care to individuals with developmental disabilities, seniors, and residents in assisted living or memory care settings. Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts.
- Monitor and record vital signs like blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure residents’ health is maintained.
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols and document all medication administration in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Provide engaging social interactions and behavioral management to promote emotional well-being and reduce agitation or distress.
- Support residents with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or memory care needs through specialized techniques that enhance safety and comfort.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning resident areas and shared spaces.
- Drive residents when necessary for appointments or community outings, ensuring safe transportation practices.
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care environments with a focus on senior care or individuals with disabilities.
- Knowledge of medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and emergency response procedures including first aid certification.
- Familiarity with EMR systems for accurate documentation of care activities.
- Strong understanding of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, behavior management strategies, and memory care techniques.
- Ability to assist with ADLs using proper lifting techniques and equipment such as Hoyer lifts.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Valid driver’s license for transportation duties and a clean driving record preferred.
