About Us
We are a well-established, multi-location insurance company seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to lead the HR function for approximately 250 employees across 38 locations. This is a hands-on leadership position for an HR professional who can balance strategic planning with the day-to-day realities of supporting a geographically dispersed, fast-paced workforce.
The Human Resources Director will serve as a trusted partner to executive leadership and location management while overseeing employee relations, compliance, recruiting, performance management, compensation and benefits, training, and HR operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all Human Resources functions for approximately 250 employees across 38 locations.
- Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, programs, and best practices that support company operations and growth.
- Advise executives, managers, and supervisors on employee relations, performance, disciplinary matters, and workplace issues.
- Manage sensitive employee relations matters and workplace investigations with professionalism, discretion, and consistency.
- Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Oversee hiring, onboarding, transfers, promotions, and offboarding.
- Develop strategies to improve employee retention, engagement, accountability, and workplace culture.
- Establish consistent HR practices and management standards across all company locations.
- Oversee performance management, including coaching, corrective action, performance improvement plans, and annual reviews.
- Oversee employee benefits administration and collaborate with payroll, benefits providers, brokers, and other vendors.
- Maintain accurate employee records, HR documentation, policies, and required compliance reporting.
- Develop and coordinate employee and management training programs.
- Monitor compensation practices and provide recommendations to maintain internal equity and market competitiveness.
- Track and report HR metrics, including turnover, recruiting activity, staffing levels, employee relations trends, and other key indicators.
- Provide leadership and guidance during periods of organizational change and company growth.
- Travel to company locations as needed to support managers and employees.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field preferred.
- Significant progressive Human Resources experience, including HR leadership or director-level responsibility.
- Experience supporting a multi-location organization strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting a workforce of approximately 250+ employees is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, employee relations, HR compliance, investigations, and performance management.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with executives, managers, frontline employees, and outside partners.
- Strong judgment and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
- Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions in a fast-moving environment.
- Experience with HRIS, payroll, benefits, applicant tracking, and related HR systems preferred.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is a plus.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $195,000.00 per year
