We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Automotive Technician to join our dynamic team in Parkville. As a senior member of our service department, you will lead diagnostic efforts, perform advanced repairs, and mentor junior technicians to ensure efficient and accurate vehicle maintenance. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately.
- Perform complex repairs on powertrain components, including diesel engines and transmissions, ensuring optimal vehicle performance.
- Repair and maintain vehicles with advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), aligning sensors and calibrating systems for safety compliance.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized automotive repair tools to execute repairs efficiently.
- Diagnose and repair automotive electrical systems, including wiring harnesses, sensors, and electronic modules.
- Perform wheel alignments and suspension adjustments to manufacturer specifications for vehicle safety and handling.
- Lead vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake repairs, tire rotations, and auto body repairs when necessary.
- Review technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot mechanical issues effectively while adhering to safety protocols.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the service process.
- Mentor junior technicians by sharing expertise in automotive diagnostics, mechanical knowledge, and repair techniques to foster team growth.
Experience:
- Proven dealership experience or extensive background working as an automotive technician in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems, powertrain components, and vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Familiarity with schematics interpretation and diagnostic software used for troubleshooting modern vehicles.
- Demonstrated ability to work with hand tools, power tool , and other automotive maintenance tools safely and efficiently.
- Excellent mechanical skills combined with a customer-focused approach to service delivery.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as an automotive mechanic.
- In-depth knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostic tools.
- Ability to perform complex repairs and maintenance on all makes and models.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Hold and maintain a Missouri State Inspectors License (Required within 90 days of hire)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with hybrid/electric vehicles.
- Leadership or supervisory experience.
- ASE Master Certification (or equivalent experience) preferred but not required.
