Position Summary
Polyart Americas is seeking an experienced, results-driven Area Sales Manager to lead business development and customer growth throughout the Eastern United States. This remote position requires residency within the Eastern region and the ability to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory.
The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, growing existing customer relationships, and promoting Polyart's premium synthetic paper solutions across multiple industrial markets. This individual will work closely with distributors, converters, printers, OEMs, and end users to provide technical product solutions while expanding market share.
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated sales professional with experience selling industrial or specialty products, a proven history of exceeding sales goals, and the ability to build long-term customer partnerships.
Reporting Relationship:
Vice President of Sales - North America
Location:
Remote - Must reside in the Eastern United States.
Travel:
Approximately 50-60% travel throughout the assigned territory, including overnight travel as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic territory sales plan focused on revenue growth and market expansion.
- Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities across targeted industries.
- Manage and grow existing customer relationships while identifying opportunities for additional product sales.
- Conduct in-person customer visits, product demonstrations, technical presentations, and sales meetings.
- Collaborate with distributors and channel partners to drive territory performance.
- Develop account strategies, sales forecasts, and pipeline reports.
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitive products, pricing, and emerging market opportunities.
- Partner with internal teams including Marketing, Customer Service, Operations, and Product Management to ensure exceptional customer support.
- Represent Polyart Americas at industry trade shows, customer events, and networking opportunities.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, sales activity reports, and forecasting information.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent sales experience will be considered.
- Minimum 5 years of outside sales experience selling industrial, manufacturing, specialty materials, plastics, packaging, graphics, labels, or related products.
- Experience developing new business while managing an established customer base.
- Demonstrated success meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage a large geographic territory.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel extensively.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience selling one or more of the following:
- Synthetic paper
- Specialty films
- Plastic sheet products
- Labels and packaging materials
- Printing or graphics products
- Industrial materials
- Specialty substrates
- Pressure-sensitive materials
- Industrial distribution
Experience working with converters, printers, distributors, packaging manufacturers, or industrial OEM customers is highly desirable.
