Two hours for every new patient. One patient at a time. Always.
We don't double-book. Not on busy days, not when we're behind, not ever. It isn't a perk — it's how this practice is built, and it's why this is an unusually good place to start a hygiene career.
About us
Pinecone Dental Care is a boutique restorative practice on SE Cesar Chavez Blvd. Dr. Zhu trained at the University of Michigan and has completed hundreds of hours at the Kois Center. We practice adhesive biomimetic dentistry — conservative, evidence-based, unhurried. Our patients come to us because they want that, and they stay.
The work
Our hygiene protocol combines ultrasonic instrumentation, refined hand scaling, and air polishing with modern low-abrasive powders — matching the technique to the tissue rather than running the same sequence on everyone. If you trained on GBT principles and never got to practice them on a real schedule, this is that job. If you didn't, we'll teach you.
New patients get two full hours, Recall is always one. Your first comprehensive exam will not be a scramble, and neither will your hundredth.

Who we're hoping to meet
Someone early in their career who wants to build it in one place. We aren't looking for speed. We're looking for someone careful, curious, and genuinely warm with patients — who wants to become excellent and understands that takes a few years.
New graduates are encouraged to apply. So are hygienists a year or two in who feel rushed where they are.
