About the Role
We are a residential new home builder in Northwest Indiana seeking an experienced Interior Painter and Construction Helper to support our on-site finish work team. You'll be our painting specialist, handling all interior paint work on new construction homes using brush, roller, and spray application. You'll also assist our lead carpenter on trim, flooring, and other finish tasks, and perform drywall patch and repair work. If you take pride in a flawless painted surface, this is your role.
What You'll Do
Painting & Finish Specialist:
- Interior painting using brush, roller, and paint sprayer
- Drywall patch and repair work
- Touch-up and punch-out painting
- Maintain high-quality finish standards on all painted surfaces
- Ensure every home meets our new construction quality standards
Support & Assist:
- Work directly under the on-site crew leader on all finish work tasks
- Cut materials, prepare work areas, stage materials for the lead carpenter
- Learn and execute trim carpentry tasks under supervision
- Keep job sites organized and materials staged for efficiency
General:
- Keep job sites clean and organized daily
- Follow safety protocols and company standards
- Communicate proactively with crew leader about tasks and progress
What We're Looking For
- Interior painting experience required — spray application, brush and roller work, understanding what a flawless new construction finish looks like
- Drywall patch and repair experience, or proven ability to develop this skill quickly
- Basic carpentry skills — you can read a tape measure, make straight cuts, understand carpentry basics
- Valid driver's license required
- Own reliable transportation
- Reliable, shows up on time, ready to work
- Willing to learn and take direction from the crew leader
- Takes pride in quality finish work
