The Shipping/Receiving Dock Supervisor reports to the Transportation-Distribution Manager and is responsible for overseeing Shipping/Receiving dock operations for assigned shift.
1. Supervise and train all assigned personnel on various positions within the shipping and receiving department.
2. Ensure all assigned personnel are up to date on all required and mandatory training, both on an individual basis as well as through department meetings.
3. Work and communicate effectively with Dispatch-Load Planners and Shipping Coordination Team to ensure all inbound and outbound loads are completed.
4. Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with personnel at all levels.
5. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge on all QA and Production related changes that will impact Shipping.
6. Operate all equipment utilized in Shipping or Receiving Dock Operations, Forklift, Electric Pallet Jack, handheld scan guns and various computerized equipment.
7. Escalate and communicate issues to Manager as needed.
8. Respond accordingly for requests and for reporting of information.
9. Review loads and product availability for each load throughout daily shift.
10. Communicate with production on shortages or inventory issues and confirm any shortages are approved before shipping.
10. Perform physical inventory, cycle counts and or audits as required.
11. Performs such other duties as may be necessary.
1. Ability to develop professional working relationship with assigned shipping/receiving personnel.
2. Ability to create clear perspective for personnel of what is expected; skilled at achieving those objectives.
3. Ability to lift and properly move at least 50 lbs.
4. Ability to understand and interpret production and warehouse reports.
5. Ability to ensure employees work safely and provide a safe working environment.
6. Comply with all rules and guidelines regarding workplace safety and follow directives from Direct Manager
7. Ability to supervise all personnel situations, working in tandem with Direct Manager and the Human Resources Department.
8. Demonstrate consistency in communication and promote team environment.
1. Previous supervisory experience helpful.
2. Must have a valid MFC forklift certification
