About the Role
Complex Security Solutions is hiring an experienced Low Voltage Security Technician for commercial security installation work in the Milwaukee/New Berlin area.
This role is ideal for a skilled technician who can install, troubleshoot, test, and commission commercial security systems, including access control, video surveillance/CCTV, intrusion, intercom, structured cabling, fiber, and related low-voltage systems.
We are looking for someone with hands-on field experience who can work independently, read prints, solve technical issues, represent the company professionally, and help bring projects across the finish line.
What You’ll Do
- Install, test, troubleshoot, and commission commercial security and low-voltage systems.
- Work with access control, CCTV/video surveillance, intrusion, intercom, structured cabling, fiber, and related systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, submittals, and project specifications.
- Install and wire panels, door hardware, strikes, mag locks, readers, cameras, and related devices.
- Complete system verification, testing, and customer acceptance activities.
- Prepare reports, closeout documentation, and as-built drawings as needed.
- Troubleshoot field issues using electronic test equipment and technical documentation.
- Coordinate with project managers, field leadership, customers, and other trades.
- Maintain current knowledge of products, systems, codes, and installation standards.
- Present a professional image in communication, workmanship, personal appearance, and vehicle appearance.
What We’re Looking For Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in commercial security, low voltage, access control, CCTV, intrusion, structured cabling, or a related field.
- Ability to install, test, troubleshoot, and commission low-voltage/security systems.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, submittals, and technical documents.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pass required driving, background, and pre-employment screenings.
- Ability to climb ladders, work on lifts, and lift at least 50 lbs.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with systems or platforms such as Axis, Kantech, Bosch, Genetec, ExacqVision, SoftwareHouse, or similar.
- Experience commissioning access control doors and working with readers, strikes, mag locks, request-to-exit devices, and door contacts.
- Experience with analog, hybrid, and IP video surveillance systems.
- Experience with intrusion systems, intercom systems, wireless systems, fire alarm, fiber, or structured cabling.
- Basic computer networking knowledge.
- Familiarity with Windows-based systems and software configuration.
- Knowledge of applicable local and national codes for inspection and testing.
- Experience working in construction environments and coordinating with other trades.
