Welder Primary Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all OSHA, MSHA, and site specific safety regulations.
- Weld components according to specific welding procedure specifications
- Use of hand and power tools to safely and properly measure, cut, assemble, and weld structural and piping components
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and welding procedures to ensure welding compliance
- Maintain welding equipment and work area in a clean and safe condition
- Ability to travel with short notice for extended durations
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate well with supervisors, co-workers, and clients
- Must be able to weld multi processes
- Ability to weld carbon and stainless steel. Other exotic metals preferred.
- Must be able to demonstrate basic pipefitter knowledge, math, measurements & take-offs
- Ability to identify and select the appropriate tools, material, and equipment necessary to perform tasks
- knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work of the trade and work sites.
- High level expertise of the standard methods, practices, materials, tools and equipment
- Ability to interpret drawings, P&ID’s, manufacturer's specifications, and other technical plans
- Ability to lift, carry, and handle items weighing up to 50 pound frequently
- Ability to work at heights above 100’ in elevation
Education, Experience, and Certifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience required
- Proficiency in welding processes SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW
- Technical training is strongly preferred
- NCCER certifications or equivalent in welding preferred
