Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) / Dental Assistant (DA) with Orthodontic experience to join our dynamic dental team. Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during various dental procedures, including orthodontics, prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry treatments.
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies, ensuring aseptic techniques are maintained at all times.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including panoramic and 3D scans, adhering to all safety protocols and HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
- Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; document treatment details accurately and efficiently.
- Perform vital signs assessments and medical history updates to ensure patient readiness for procedures.
- Support the dental team with administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and managing medical documentation.
- Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-treatment instructions, and orthodontic appliance care while maintaining excellent communication skills.
Skills
- Proficiency in dental assisting techniques with experience in chairside assisting across multiple specialties including orthodontics and pediatrics.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques.
- Familiarity with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with Epic or similar medical documentation platforms is a plus.
- Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners safely and effectively.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
- Experience working in pediatric dentistry is highly desirable; ability to handle young patients with patience and care.
- Knowledge of dental procedures such as vital signs measurement, medical coding, and medical records management.
