Hybrid: 3 days onsite in Warren, MI (hourly rate + time and a half over 40 hours/ week)
The ideal candidate is an electrical engineer who enjoys both design and hands-on troubleshooting. They can read and create electrical schematics, understand why components are selected, diagnose issues on real vehicles, and confidently work with suppliers to improve designs and resolve problems. Experience with automotive electrical systems, CAN tools, and electrical hardware development is highly desirable.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 5-7 years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
- Experience designing electrical schematics and/or electrical hardware systems (design from concept is preferred).
- Strong understanding of electrical components, circuits, and schematic interpretation.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting electrical systems on vehicles and laboratory test benches.
- Experience using electrical diagnostic and analysis tools, including:
- Oscilloscopes, Multimeters, Current clamps
- CAN communication tools
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Ability to create technical documentation and communicate engineering findings clearly.
Working as a part of an OEM Exterior Lighting organization, which is responsible for the electrical functionality of vehicle lighting systems. A significant portion of the role involves:
- Testing prototype and production lighting components on laboratory benches
- Performing electrical analysis and troubleshooting on vehicles
- Reviewing lighting system designs
- Identifying electrical and integration issues before production
- Collaborating with internal engineering teams and suppliers
Team Structure- Current team size: Approximately 10 engineers and growing.
Pay: $48.00 - $52.00 per hour
