Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and energetic Veterinary Assistant to join our dynamic veterinary team. Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and restraining animals
- Provide compassionate animal handling and restraint to ensure safety for both animals and staff during treatments and examinations
- Perform animal husbandry tasks including cleaning, feeding and maintaining a clean clinic environment
- Support record keeping by documenting treatments, medication administration, and patient histories with precision
- Handle front desk responsibilities such as scheduling appointments, answering client inquiries, and managing client communication effectively
Requirements
- Proven kennel experience combined with veterinary technician or critical care experience is highly preferred
- Strong background in animal handling, restraint techniques, and pet care across various species including dogs, cats, and equines
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal husbandry practices
- Excellent record keeping skills with attention to detail for accurate documentation of treatments and procedures
- Effective communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration
- Prior veterinary clinic experience demonstrating proficiency in animal welfare practices and emergency response preparedness
