As a School District IT Systems Manager, you will serve as part of a team to support students and staff members in a K-12 public school district. This position requires a broad knowledge of information technology systems, applications, and practices coupled with a pleasant demeanor and determination to solve problems. Essential duties of this position include:
- Windows domain and server administration
- Google Workspace for Education administration
- Network hardware administration (including firewall, switches, and wireless access points)
- Repair of end user hardware including desktop PCs, laptops, Chromebooks, and iPads
- Oversight of help desk ticketing system and ensuring the prompt completion of support requests from staff and students
- Deployment of instructional technology hardware and software campus wide as needed using hands-on techniques and remote support tools as needed
- Specifying, procurement, and maintenance of student technology devices such as Chromebooks and iPads
- Administration of security and content filtering systems for staff and student devices
- Training users in instructional technology
- Coordination of third-party vendor maintenance contracts for equipment such as security cameras, access control devices, printers, and IP phones
- Assisting in preparation of technology budgets and purchase planning
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology (or related field)
- Industry and Professional Certifications a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to troubleshoot network hardware, computer systems, and applications via face-to-face interaction, by telephone, and through the use of remote tools
- 5+ years of progressive technology management experience (preferably in a K-12 environment)
- 5+ years of Windows Domain administration
- 5+ years Google Workspace administration preferred
- 5+ years of experience supporting a Student Information System preferred
- Understanding of Federal eRate funding preferred
- Familiarity with a variety of K-12 educational applications
This position requires the following clearances to be maintained throughout the duration of employment:
- Act 34 – Pennsylvania Criminal History Background Check
- Act 114 – Federal Criminal History Background Check (with fingerprinting)
- Act 151 – Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance.
