American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a 13-week travel contract in San Antonio, TX, requiring NRP and STABLE certifications for a Level 4 NICU setting.

Level 4 NICU caring for a wide range of neonatal patients, from feeder growers to complex ICU cases
-
Patient ratios of 1:2, 1:3, or 1:4, with CNA support on 1:4 assignments

Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
-
Weekend requirement: 4 weekends per six-week period, plus two Mondays and two Fridays
-
13-week contract
-
Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
-
Current BLS certification (American Heart Association only)

Current NRP certification required

Current STABLE certification required (Participant, Lead Instructor, or Support Instructor course)

Minimum 1 year of NICU or related neonatal nursing experience

BSN preferred

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel pay rates

US Social Security Number required for consideration

Provides nursing care using the full nursing process — assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned neonatal patients

Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness

Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families

Provides patient and family education, identifying learning needs and available resources

All newly hired RNs must complete New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days

Initial onboarding includes precepted orientation with competency validation specific to Perinatal Services

Experience in a Perinatal setting or completion of a Perinatal RN Residency is preferred
