Caring Cardiology is looking for a motivated individual to join our team as an Insurance Verification Specialist. This person will be responsible for verifying insurance benefits, eligibility, and obtaining prior authorizations. We are looking for a person to join our team long-term.
Essential Job Functions:
- Verifies insurance benefits on all patient appointments on payer portals or by calling payors to determine level of insurance coverage.
- Check on prior authorization requirements, obtain proper authorization in a timely manner.
- Identifies correct payer plans within the practice management system to add coverage to accounts.
- Documents accurate demographics into practice management system.
- Responds to insurance eligibility questions from clinic staff timely.
- Calls patients to obtain insurance information if lapsed or missing.
- Other duties as assigned.

Experience/Education:
- Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Preferred: Experience with insurance eligibility in a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of health insurance verification requirements and processes.
- Knowledge of payer specific guidelines including Medi-Cal, Medicare, Commercial PPO.
- Knowledge of health insurance benefits.
- Experience in Electronic Health Record system, eClinicalWorks preferred.
- Strong computer skills, proficiency in data entry and Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and Internet.
- Must have excellent customer service skills, good energy and a positive attitude.
- Requires strong typing and computer skills in a windows environment with strong attention to detail.
- Bilingual in English and Farsi is a plus!
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
