Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Maintenance Assistant to join our dynamic facilities team. In this vital role, you will support the maintenance, repair, and operational integrity of our residential and manufacturing environments. Your expertise will ensure that all systems—mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC—operate smoothly, providing a safe and efficient space for residents and staff alike. Duties
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on electrical systems, including electrical equipment repair and troubleshooting using schematics and Ohmmeters.
- Conduct plumbing system maintenance and repairs to ensure optimal operation of water supply and drainage.
- Assist with HVAC system repairs, diagnosing issues with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units to maintain comfortable indoor environments.
- Support manufacturing operations by maintaining machinery, utilizing programmable logic controllers (PLCs), welding skills, and mechanical knowledge.
- Manage maintenance requests using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), prioritizing tasks efficiently while documenting all work performed.
- Oversee residential painting projects and supervise team members when necessary, ensuring quality standards are met.
- Maintain facilities by adhering to safety protocols, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting general repair activities related to facilities maintenance, MRO supplies, and schematics interpretation.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in electrical equipment repair, plumbing system maintenance, HVAC system repair, or general facilities maintenance.
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and schematics reading.
- Ability to operate tools such as Ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment confidently.
- Previous supervising experience or leadership skills in a maintenance or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and team collaboration.
- Knowledge of CMMS software for tracking work orders and maintenance history.
- Experience with welding techniques and residential painting is a plus.
- Demonstrated customer service orientation with the ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently.
- Must be able to drive the transportation van to doctor's appointments and outings. Must have a valid driver's license.
