We are seeking an experienced, driven, and people-focused Veterinary Practice Manager to oversee hospital operations, support our growing team, and help continue our mission of delivering outstanding patient care and client service.
Position Summary
The Veterinary Practice Manager will be responsible for the overall operational, financial, and administrative management of the hospital. Working closely with our veterinarians and leadership team, this individual will help ensure efficient workflows, staff engagement, exceptional client experiences, and continued business growth.
This role requires a leader who is passionate about veterinary medicine, team development, operational excellence, and creating a positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Recruit, onboard, train, and mentor team members
- Foster a collaborative, supportive, and accountable work environment
- Conduct performance evaluations and coaching conversations
- Manage staff scheduling and staffing levels to support hospital needs
- Promote employee engagement, retention, and professional growth
Hospital Operations
- Oversee day-to-day hospital operations and workflow efficiency
- Ensure exceptional client service standards throughout the practice
- Partner with veterinarians to optimize patient care and hospital performance
- Maintain compliance with veterinary regulations, OSHA standards, and hospital policies
- Support implementation of new systems, protocols, and process improvements
Financial Management
- Monitor hospital budgets, payroll, inventory, and key performance indicators
- Analyze financial reports and identify opportunities for growth and efficiency
- Manage vendor relationships and purchasing processes
- Help develop and execute business strategies that support sustainable growth
Client Experience
- Ensure clients receive outstanding communication and service
- Address client concerns professionally and effectively
- Support initiatives that strengthen client loyalty and community reputation
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of veterinary practice management, healthcare management, or related leadership experience
- Strong leadership and team-building skills
- Experience managing budgets, payroll, and operational performance metrics
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution abilities
- Proficiency with veterinary practice management software and Microsoft Office
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-doctor environment
- Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) designation preferred but not required
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or related field preferred
