CONTRACT DURATION: 26 Weeks – Possibility of extension based on attendance, performance, facility need, etc.

PAY: 25/hr
SHIFT: Day Shift | 5x8 | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Onsite
START DATE: 7/13/2026
ONBOARDING TIME: Expect 2–3 weeks between offer to start date
EQUIPMENT: All equipment provided
Job Description and Requirements:
The Patient Services Representative serves as the first point of contact for patients entering an outpatient medical facility. This role supports front desk operations, patient registration, scheduling, intake processes, insurance verification, payment collection, and administrative workflows while providing exceptional customer service.
This position is not intended for inpatient or direct clinical care functions. The ideal candidate will have experience in patient-facing healthcare environments and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and strict confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
· Greet, check in, and assist patients in a professional and welcoming manner
· Verify and update patient demographic, insurance, and registration information
· Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments
· Facilitate patient intake processes and completion of required forms
· Verify insurance coverage, authorizations, and eligibility information
· Update and maintain Electronic Health Records (EHR) accurately and timely
· Collect payments and assist with patient billing inquiries when applicable
· Answer incoming phone calls and provide outstanding customer service
· Maintain accurate documentation and complete clerical tasks within established timeframes
· Communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and department staff
· Maintain confidentiality and safeguard Protected Health Information (PHI)
· Support routine and priority administrative tasks in a high-volume environment
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace
Job Requirements:
· High School Diploma or equivalent education or experience required
· Minimum 1 year of recent experience in patient services, registration, front desk operations, or medical office support required
· Experience with patient check-in, appointment scheduling, intake procedures, and form completion required
· Experience updating Electronic Health Records (EHR) and verifying patient demographic and insurance information required
· Basic knowledge of insurance policies, procedures, patient billing, and authorization processes required
· Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and protect PHI in accordance with privacy regulations required
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook required
· Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a high-interruption environment required
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience in an outpatient medical facility
· Experience collecting payments for healthcare services
· Experience answering phones and providing customer service in a clinical setting
· Ability to interpret written, verbal, diagram-based, and schedule-based instructions
· Ability to establish collaborative relationships with peers, providers, and department staff
Requirements (due at time of phone screen with recruiter):
· Resume with last seven years of work history if applicable - all work history gaps of 90+ days must be explained
· Upcoming requested time off for the duration of the contract
