Lead the end-to-end EPC functions for solar PV and BESS projects, primarily in distributed generation (<20MW) with consideration for utility-scale experience (>50MW). Oversee engineering design, procurement strategies, construction execution including mechanical completion, electrical systems, site energization, and milestone achievement to ensure projects meet timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full EPC lifecycle: engineering coordination, vendor procurement, construction delivery, commissioning, and handover for PV and BESS projects
- Set and track project milestones, including mechanical completion, electrical testing, site turnover, and grid integration
- Lead teams in risk management, budgeting, scheduling, contract negotiations, and compliance with safety/HSE standards
- Travel to Texas construction sites for oversight; collaborating with stakeholders on BESS/PV integration
- Drive continuous improvement in EPC processes for distributed generation solar projects
- Conduct site assessments, geotechnical surveys, environmental studies, and feasibility analysis for PV/BESS projects.
- Oversee detailed design, CAD modeling, and grid interconnection/point-of-connection planning with utilities.
- Source and procure equipment like solar panels, inverters, mounting structures, and BESS components from approved vendors.
- Negotiate contracts, manage supplier logistics, and ensure timely delivery to minimize project delays.
- Direct site preparation, foundation work, equipment installation, electrical wiring, and commissioning/testing.
Qualifications
- 5+ years at director level or above in solar EPC, with hands-on experience in distributed generation/local solar (<20MW); utility-scale (>50MW) a plus
- Proven expertise in BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) and PV (solar) projects, including procurement and construction
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; strong leadership and Texas travel willingness required
- Familiarity with Texas regulations, grid interconnection, and renewable energy markets
