Responsibilities
- Safely operate company trucks and equipment in accordance with all federal, state, and company safety requirements.
- Haul and transport heavy construction equipment between company locations, jobsites, and vendors.
- Transport and deliver commercial dumpsters to and from construction and customer locations.
- Operate a concrete/cement mixer truck and deliver concrete to jobsites as needed.
- Properly secure equipment, materials, and loads before transportation.
- Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Maintain accurate vehicle and delivery records.
- Assist with loading, unloading, positioning, and securing equipment and materials.
- Communicate with project managers, superintendents, foremen, customers, and other drivers.
- Maintain assigned trucks and equipment in a clean and safe operating condition.
- Report any mechanical issues, damage, accidents, or safety concerns immediately.
- Follow all OSHA, DOT, company safety policies, and applicable CDL regulations.
- Assist the construction crew with general labor duties when not driving.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Valid Pennsylvania CDL – Class A
- Clean and acceptable driving record.
- Previous construction trucking experience preferred.
- Experience hauling heavy equipment, dumpsters, or operating a concrete mixer is highly preferred.
- Ability to safely operate vehicles with manual and automatic transmissions.
- Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a construction team.
- Must be dependable, safety-conscious, and willing to work a flexible schedule when project needs require it.
- Must be able to pass required DOT physical, drug/alcohol testing, and background requirements.
CDL endorsements must match the type of equipment/vehicle being operated. For example, Pennsylvania's CDL classifications and endorsements are determined by the vehicle and type of operation.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to climb in and out of trucks and construction equipment.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and work on uneven terrain.
- Ability to safely secure loads and handle equipment/materials.
- Ability to lift and carry materials as needed.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
